A little about me Welcome to third grade! My name is Mrs. Karen Moss and I am proud to call Merritt-Academy my home. I have been teaching elementary for ten years and absolutely love it! I hope that you and your family are as excited about beginning a new school year as I am. I am a highly qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Oakland University with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Language Arts. My husband Reid and I have two daughters, Taylor and Sydnee. We are the proud grandparents of two grand sons. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family. We like to barbeque, watch movies and work in the garden. We have two rescue dogs named Gatsby and Stout. My favorite quote: "To reach a child's mind a teacher must capture his heart."- Dr. Haim G. Ginott My personal mission statement: All children can learn and excel in an accepting and nurturing environment that builds character and skills for the real world. Education enriched by committed adults will help children develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, such as leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. |
